Laurence O'Dwyer is an Irish writer and scholar. He has won a number of awards including a Hennessy New Irish Writing Award and the Patrick Kavanagh Award for Poetry. He was a research fellow at Goethe University, Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience and the Donders Center for Cognitive Neuroimaging. In 2018 he was awarded residencies at the Rensing Center and the Vermont Studio Center. He is an associate researcher at the Centre for Newfoundland and Labrador Studies at Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. His work has been published in The Guardian, World Literature Today, Warscapes, Salamander, Mudlark and Poetry Salzburg Review.
