Francis O’Hare was born in 1970 in Newry, Northern Ireland. Publications include Falling into an O, Somewhere Else and Alphaville (Lagan Press, Belfast), Home and Other Elsewheres (Evening Street Press, U.S.A.) and Sailing To Omeath (Arlen House, Dublin). He has published poems in Acumen, Poetry Ireland Review, Evening Street Review and PN Review among others. A new collection, A Different Light, is forthcoming from Arlen House.
They’ll say I’m being parochial,
wearing small town blinkers, being
Lilliputian, small time, local.
But pay no heed to their tee-heeing.
Look past the very odd, occasional
shopping trolley and try seeing
