Michael Woods was born in London. His poems have won several prizes and have appeared in a  number of anthologies, including those produced by Templar Poetry. He has researched the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins and  is an annual participant and lecturer at the Gerard Manley Hopkins Conference in Ireland. As editor of Tandem poetry magazine, he has sought to promote the work of young writers.

The Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, describes Michael Woods' poetry as ‘concerned with texture, tenderness and the toughness of experience, with a fresh eye for the passions and eccentricities concealed behind our front doors.’

Michael Woods will offer a number of 30 minute poetry and writing workshops during the 2018 Templar Festival at Keats House.

  • These will be sent to Mike prior to the 1:1 session
  • The poems will be used as a context for the session
  • Include a short biography with your submission
