Launched at the Templar Keats House Festival: Sunday 3rd June

Explosives Licence is Jonathan’s debut poetry pamphlet and a winner of the 2018 IOTA Shot Pamphlet Awards. These poems explore our responses to profound disruptions in our lives: the ghosts that inhabit our surroundings and relationships; the licences we give ourselves to talk and stay silent; the rituals drawing us closer and compulsions driving us apart.

There is darkness here, at “the needling heart” –
but there are also fireworks.

Jonathan was born and grew up in Sussex. He studied psychology and philosophy before going on to train as a clinical psychologist. His poems have been published in magazines including Brittle Star, Envoi, The Frogmore Papers, The Interpreter’s House, Lighthouse and Orbis, and in the anthology Best New British and Irish Poets 2018 (Eyewear Publishing).

He was the Fenland Poet Laureate for 2015 and co-founded The Fenland Reed, a magazine for new writing, in the same year. Explosives Licence is his debut pamphlet.
