Christopher James was born in Paisley, Scotland in 1975, and educated at Newcastle and UEA. He has won the National Poetry Competition, the Bridport Prize, the Ledbury Prize and is a recipient of an Eric Gregory Award.
He has published four previous collections, most recently England Underwater (Templar). He works in London and lives in Suffolk, with his wife and three children. He also writes songs especially for the ukulele, reviews poetry, likes stripy t-shirts, long distance running and sea swimming.
The Fool is his fifth collection.
